I had the pleasure of living up in Aberdeen as a student, and I got to know many different people while I lived there. The consensus from speaking to locals who lived there longer than I did was that it was a great city to raise a child in.

The employment opportunities are growing, and the proximity to Scotland’s oil and gas sector means that it is a pretty good place to be when it comes to finding jobs, as well. I found a lot of praise for the number of nurseries Aberdeen has to offer. Overall, it’s a great city for someone raising a child and looking to find a long-term career: for stability and opportunity, it’s worth considering.
