I think so, yes. Most students stand to benefit from the focus and structure provided by a prep course. Without it, it can be hard to figure out what to study when, and it can be hard to stay focused enough to make studying a routine. Onsego GED prep and other courses like it will often also offer various tools to make students’ lives easier, such as practice tests, video lessons, score reports, and more.
That’s not to say that you need a prep course to succeed. Plenty of students manage to pass the GED while studying independently, and the test itself is not designed to be tricky or difficult. Instead, it’s simply meant to confirm participants have acquired the required knowledge. Still, while studying alone is possible, there is much to gain and nothing to lose in enrolling in a prep course, making it the ideal choice more often than not. That’s my view anyway; I got through both my GED and the SATs with the help of prep courses.
