Cyber threats are constantly evolving, and no business is truly ever completely invulnerable to these threats. However, there are some things you can do to help guard against them. These are:
– Have robust policies regarding data access
Cyber attacks often target data, attempting to steal valuable information about your business or your customers. Make sure you have strong policies in place to guard against this.
– Carry out comprehensive staff training on cyber threats
Your staff should be aware about risks such as viruses and phishing. That way, there will be less risk of them, for example, opening a phishing email.
– Strong password policies
One of the easiest changes to implement to decrease your vulnerability to cyber threats is to implement strong password policies. All passwords should be unique and complex to make it harder for attackers to guess.
– Consult IT professionals
Ultimately, protection from cyber threats is best left to IT security experts who know what they’re doing. I let the guys at my Kent IT Support company handle all my IT security policies and haven’t had a security breach to date!
