Once bunions have appeared one way to get rid of them completely is with surgery. However there are some things that you can do in order to relieve the pain of bunions and significantly reduce the swelling. These include:
– Wearing Wide Fitting Shoes
Shoes that are too tight can affect the size of the bunions considerably. If you opt for a wide fit shoe, the bunions are likely to be less aggravated and cause less pain.
– Use Bunion Pads
Bunion pads are available at most major drug stores and can be used to protect the bunions on a day-to-day basis and reduce the amount of pain they cause.
– Use Shoe Inserts
Shoe inserts can help to reposition the foot inside the shoe in order to reduce the contact between the bunions and the side of the shoe.
If measures like these are not helping to relieve the pain then you might want to consider surgery. I had found this sports orthopaedic surgeon in London and had my surgery here, and so far I haven’t experienced any further problems.
