There are many cherry blossom spots in the country. Tokyo alone has at least ten! The Shinjuku Gyoen, a 10-minute walk from Sinjuku Station, has over 1,000 cherry blossom trees, wide walking areas, and a peaceful atmosphere. There’s a perfect combination of early and late blooming trees so if you’re visiting in early April, you’ll surely find this place at its grandest. Admission is 500 yen.
You can also visit the Ueno Park which is said to be one of the most crowded cherry blossom attractions in Japan. If you’re fine with braving large crowds, the Ueno Park is a must-visit. Admission is free and there are more than a thousand trees lining the street that leads to the National Museum.
The Chidorigafuchi and the Sumida Park also offer a fantastic view of the cherry blossom trees. They’re great if you want to see the blossoms while enjoying a boat ride. Admission to these parks is free.
