When I go on holiday, I usually try to take my dogs with me but when that’s not a possibility, I usually find a pet sitter instead.
For the first few years, I used a house sitting website to connect with people who traveled and looked after pets and house as they moved around. This worked great for me a couple of times but sometimes I found it hard to get a sitter for the dates I needed it.
Then I did a bit of research to see if I could find a pet sitter in Hertfordshire where I lived. I managed to find a local man who did pet sitting fulltime and offered dog walking and boarding. I found that it was a little bit easier to make plans this way rather than waiting around trying to get a house sitter online.
