There are three main types of bowling ball cores and they are:
- Pancake
Pancake core balls are the most common and are often used by beginners, as they are best suited to people with lower bowling skill level.
- Symmetrical
Bowling balls with Symmetrical cores are the most similar to pancake core balls, but unlike pancake core balls, they are a little harder to control. This is because they are slightly lighter. If your skills are more advanced, then the lighter weight can benefit your game, but they can be difficult to use if you aren’t quite skilled enough yet.
- Asymmetric
The final core type is an asymmetric core, and this is often used by more advanced players. This is because they are a lot harder to use than the other two, and require the player to master difficult techniques.
