Data mining is a technical process involving a ton of data for drawing patterns, which later become intelligence or feasible solutions. This is done by passing through the four stages of data mining. For example, Eminenture data mining services have four main processes to carry out. These are the following:
- Data collection or acquisition, which can be done through vendors, scripting, or tools.
- Data cleaning or cleansing, which involves the process of preparing databases for transformation.
- Data analysis, which focuses on drawing the meaning of patterns that are forming through different analysis methods like association or clustering. Later, it becomes a forecast or prediction.
- Reporting, which carries the insights of analysis, modelling, and forecasting
