Medical billing is the practice of doing everything needful for making medical claims. It is extremely popular in the United States where payments for healthcare are made through these insurance claims. This process has a healthcare provider in a key role that collects insurance information from the patient and file for the claim. The process does not end here, as it involves follow-ups, appealing claims with insurance companies for receiving payments for medical tests, treatments and procedure of the insured person.

The insurance company itself proceeds with medical billing cycle using medical bill coders’ report to determine what the diagnosis & treatments were together with their cost and total payment. Once the entire revenue cycle management verification reaches its end, the medical claims are made. This whole happening is called medical billing.
