It’s certainly possible, but not always easy. In Scotland, wild camping is completely legal and easy to do. In Wales, wild camping is banned with no exceptions. You can only camp there with the landowner’s permission. In England, the rules are somewhere in between. Generally, wild camping is illegal. However, there are exceptions for certain areas of national parks, where it will be tolerated and you won’t have any problems.

I’ve personally had some trouble with pitching a tent, but when me and my friends drove a couple of campervans in Kent, it was much easier. We were able to drive around the countryside exploring the beautiful south of England. Then, we just parked up, slept, and left early in the morning without any problems. Check out the Dub Hut if you’re looking for a campervan that you can drive around Kent. This area of England is stunning but, of course, you could drive all around the country.
