Is there a difference between full-spectrum CBD and isolates? Is one stronger than the other?

Yes there is a difference, and no it isn’t strength. Well, not technically. The difference is that CBD concentrates made with full-spectrum CBD will contain other minor cannabinoids alongside the CBD.

What are those minor cannabinoids? Well, those are the other active agents found in your typical hemp plant. THC and CBD get all the press, but scientists have so far isolated over 100 cannabinoids that can be found in hemp plants. And while the exact benefits of each one of those cannabinoids are still being researched, they’re generally just as healthy as CBD is. These cannabinoids can also synergize with CBD, helping the substance act inside your body.

CBD isolates, of course, lack all of this. They only include pure CBD in the final product. Since working with pure CBD is easier, these are often cheaper. And while two bottles of CBD oil containing 1000mg of CBD dissolved in the same volume of carrier oil will technically have the same “strength”, the bottle that contains full-spectrum CBD will be just a bit healthier and more effective.
