Japan is a very popular ski destination for international skiers and Japanese skiers alike. Some of the countries more northern islands see snowfall that is unmatched in other parts of the world, and there are some great resorts to choose from. Despite offering great ski, Japan also offers a diverse cultural experience for people from the west which is a good element to add to any holiday. Different resorts offer different experiences. On my most recent trip, I decided to go to Nozawa Onsen, which is a small ski village that is home to traditional Japanese onsen hotels. Getting in the hot water after a long day on the slopes was a godsend and really made my trip great. If you’re thinking of going to Japan, I would definitely recommend doing some research on ski resorts and picking the one that is best for you, as Japan has a lot to offer.
