Is an immersion blender different from a regular blender?

There are so many different kitchen appliances available on the market right now that it’s hard to remember all the functions of different devices. There are multiple types of blenders available, and one of those is an immersion or stick blender. These are definitely different from a regular blender. A traditional blender consists of a base, blades to blend the ingredients, and a large glass bowl or pitcher. An immersion blender, on the other hand, is a long cylindrical “stick” that can be used to whip up ingredients without using large blades. Instead, there’s a smaller blade at the base that moves very quickly.

Immersion blenders are becoming popular because they take up less space than a traditional blender and are sometimes more powerful. Kitchen Habit has more information, but to put it simply, immersion blenders can replace most of the functions that traditional blenders have. They can do everything from pureeing soup ingredients to blending frozen fruits and vegetables into a smooth consistency.
