How often should I hoover/clean my carpets?

Many homeowners dismiss the idea of carpeted floors because they are scared of the extra cleaning involved. The truth is, there is a thing such as overcleaning your carpet. Aside from regular vacuuming, you should avoid cleaning your carpets harshly, especially with chemical solutions, as they could destroy the fibres. However, they should be professionally cleaned every 12 to 18 months, which isn’t exactly hard or expensive to commit to.

If you’re one of those homeowners, I suggest you have a change of heart and reconsider switching to carpeted floors. I recently had mine done by Choice Carpets, which is the top provider of carpets in Tunbridge Wells. Their carpets are gorgeous but are competitively priced. They were responsive, friendly, and worked quickly yet meticulously. They even gave me advice on how to clean my carpet and how often I should do it. After experiencing what carpeted floors feel like under my feet and how easy they are to maintain, there’s no going back.

It really depends on several different factors, but I can tell you what I do to keep my carpet clean. I have three dogs that malt so for me, hoovering is a daily activity. I also like to keep the carpets smelling fresh so about once or twice a week, I will use a fragranced product and leave it on for a few hours before hoovering it. This type of thing is inexpensive and can be purchased at most supermarkets.

However, when it comes to giving the carpets a thorough clean, I do this about once a month. I pay Abracadabra Cleaning a company that offers carpet cleaning in Chippenham, Wiltshire. They usually come once a month and do a proper clean on all the carpets. This removes any dirt that the hoover can’t get to and gets rid of dog hairs that have may their deeper into the pile.
