How much do rope access technicians make?

It’s hard to say. Your salary can depend on your level of experience and expertise, as well as on what industry you apply your rope access training in. For instance, if you find opportunities in the energy sector here in the UK, you can receive anywhere from £12 to £40 an hour.
You can also get paid more based on your IRATA – Industrial Rope Access Trade Association – level. A level 1 IRATA certification earns you entry-level wages; having level 2 certification means you qualify for an experienced technician’s salary; and a level 3 certification means you get paid at a supervisory level. Should you desire to reach level 2 or 3, it helps to hold a job at a rope access company that can put your skills to good use. The experience you gain from doing so can earn you higher salaries in the future.
