I was looking for the answer to this question myself before I bought my first ever wig and though it’s not ideal, yes, you can wear a wig everyday. The better question, however, is, should you?
Wigs don’t last forever. They don’t even last a year. The more you wear your wig, the shorter its lifespan is. This is especially true for synthetic wigs, those that are made of artificial materials.
Just like your natural hair, your wig needs tender, loving care. The more you take care of it, the longer it will last. For synthetic wigs, it takes about 3 to 5 months before you need to replace it; while it can last up to 10 months if the wig is made of natural hair.
If you decide to wear one wig every day, it can only last until about 6 weeks before you would need to replace it. Again, the more you use the wig, the shorter lifespan it has. My suggestion is if you plan to wear a wig every day, buy at least 3, so you can switch them up, and improve their lifespan.
While it’s okay to wear a wig every day, you shouldn’t forget to take care of your natural hair, too. Wigs can sometimes damage natural hair so the more you use a wig, the more your natural hair will suffer, too. So when you do wear a wig every day, don’t forget to make your natural hair breathe by taking off your wig at home and when you take a shower.
I bought 3 different kinds of wigs for the first time from www.keswigs.com because they have a lot of options and if you can buy your wigs from one place, the better.
