People change their minds every time about selling a property. But it is infinitely advisable to change your mind BEFORE signing a contract rather than AFTER doing so. If you do change your mind about selling your home after a contract is signed, then it can be really challenging to back out of the deal.
Just like with any legal issue, once a contract is signed, the agreement becomes binding under the law. This is one of the reasons why it is important to work with reasonable and reputable companies or individuals.
I worked with a trusted home-buying company in Louisville, and sometimes we were willing to listen to clients’ pleas on issues like this. But even the most reasonable companies will require a very strong reason before they can allow you to back out of a legally binding contract.
