If you are looking for a relaxing place, there are some great holiday cottages near Glasgow. I found one,Finlaystone Barns, that seems idyllic. I like to keep things like holiday cottages because they are more than sufficient. For example, we could buy some food to cook in the cottage instead of always feeling like we need to go and eat out for dinner while in Glasgow.
One thing I would say, too, is that living within the city centre when visiting can be very noisy and fraught. I would recommend staying near Glasgow, as transport links into the city are varied and it tends to be a bit cheaper to stay outside of the city than to go and rent a hotel room right in the heart of Glasgow itself.
